Vidhya Lakshmanaperumal

Vidhya is a Senior Assistant Professor in Environmental Chemistry. She obtained her BSc in Chemistry from MK University, BEd from Madras University, MSc in Chemistry from Annamalai University, MPhil in Chemistry from Bharathidasan University and PhD in Chemistry with a research thesis in Environmental Chemistry from Bharathiar University, India. She has 16+ years of wide experience travelling from school to college teaching. She had exuberance research experience on the removal of heavy metal ions using biochars derived from waste agro materials and inorganic adsorbents. Her current research work involves the development of novel biochar materials from wastes and eco-friendly biodegradables from the soil and water for green agriculture and clean environment, synthesis of nanoparticles and their applications in wastewater treatment, conversion of waste to bioenergy and use of electrochemical sensors. She is a member of American Chemical Society, USA; Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Australia, International Biochar Initiative, USA and Madras Agricultural Students Union, India Her research papers are peer-reviewed in national and international journals. She visited Malaysia for High Level Discussion Meeting on Smart Agriculture. Now, she is acting as one of the consultants for Smart Agriculture in Malaysia with special reference to environmental issues under TNAU-InAgMa, Agro-Park Project, Selangor, Malaysia.
